Non-Trivial Quality Issues

I purchased a 2018, 3046R cabbed tractor because of John Deere's reputation for quality. I am extremely saddened to say that I have been disappointed in this regard. Upon initial delivery of the tractor, the cruise control didn't work, switches kept falling out of the control panel, and one of the fasteners holding the console in place didn't have a tapped hole. The fastener, which was not self-tapping, was forced into an untapped hole. This stripped the threads off the fastener and left it loose in the panel. In addition, the exhaust filter cleaning function failed after the first cleaning. The tractor would not enter into auto cleaning nor would it allow for a parked cleaning. Finally, to make matters worse, when I went to lubricate the front axle trunnion I found it impossible to access the rear grease fitting, which was covered up by the front of the oil pan. John Deere is aware of this design flaw but has not corrected it. In order to access the grease fitting, John Deere's recommended solution is to machine or grind an access channel into the trunnion casting. This is not a trivial fix and it is absolutely unacceptable on a new tractor. The only other way to lubricate the rear grease fitting is to drop the front axle. Based upon this design flaw and the other quality issues I have experienced over the past several months, I would not recommend the purchase of this tractor.

I have 3046R cab 1050 hrs great machine

I purchased my 3046r cab tractor will be 3 years in march 2019 .. I have approximately 1050 hrs .. Have not had a bit of trouble.. Do mowing with auto connect mower which is great quick on & off... We till ,we bush hog , we snow removal could not ask for a better unit

Nothing runs like a Deere

I traded my 3320 for a slightly used [214 hours]3046r cab and although my 3320 power reverser was a great tractor, I absolutely love the 3046 with hydro transmission and all the bell and whistles plus the a/c. This is my 3rd Deere, 790 had for 12 years and sold for more than I gave for it, the 3320 was bought at farm auction and I kept it for about a year before swapping for the 3046. Ps I got $1000 more for the 3320 than I purchased it for on the trade.
